Job summary

Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional to partner with individuals we support to achieve personal outcomes, daily living skills, decision-making, and well-being in a hands-on, respectful setting.

This in-person role requires carrying out essential duties, documentation, transportation, and collaboration with the care team to promote health, safety, and community involvement. A driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience performing related job duties preferred.
• Not required, training will be provided upon hire as needed.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Proficient computer skills preferred.
• Proficient writing skills with grasp of basic grammar and spelling.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with flexibility, keeping others informed and anticipating needs is essential.
• Must be efficient, well organized, and have excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Help people identify and realize their personal life goals.
• Advocate for people we support in various situations.
• Teach new life skills to individuals.
• Promote health and safety for the people we support.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining a network of relationships and social roles.
• Develop service plans with the interdisciplinary team to aid personal goals.
• Provide positive behavior support when needed.
• Prevent, recognize and report abuse toward the people we support.
• Document service provision and daily notes on time and accurately.
• Promote and support community involvement for the people we support.
• Transport clients to off-site locations using a vehicle.
• Perform healthcare-related tasks as needed.
• Complete required documentation on paper and electronically, meeting quality standards.
