Job summary

Resources for Human Development is seeking a DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL in Pittsburgh, PA to provide personal care and daily living assistance in a community-based setting. This regular full-time role offers training, supportive team collaboration, and opportunities to grow professionally.

You will document client progress, collaborate with families and teammates, and promote independence, dignity, and choice in a person-centered program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; related field education is a plus.
• Previous direct support, caregiving, or related field experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) is required or will be obtained during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Support clients in daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
• Foster a positive and respectful relationship with clients while promoting independence and personal choices.
• Assist clients in developing skills for everyday living and participate in social and recreational activities.
• Document client progress and maintain accurate records of care and support provided.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other team members to ensure coordinated care.
