RHA Health Services, LLC is hiring a Direct Support Professional in New Jersey. This role supports individuals with disabilities and mental health/substance use challenges, promoting independence and community engagement.

You’ll assist with personal care, daily living skills, and transportation, under supervision, following person-centered plans to help clients achieve personal goals and maintain rights and dignity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Compassionate and patient demeanor
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Advocate for individuals’ human, legal, and civil rights.
• Promote health and safety by supporting wellness initiatives and accident prevention.
• Encourage self-advocacy and empower individuals in making their own choices.
• Facilitate community engagement by accompanying individuals to work, recreational activities, and social events.
• Teach and support independent living skills, including household management and personal care.
• Provide transportation for appointments, errands, and community activities.
• Assist with medication administration per state laws.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all care aspects.
