Barber National Institute is seeking compassionate Community Support Professionals to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in our Adult Day programs. You will help clients achieve greater independence, engage in community activities, and work toward personal goals in a safe, supportive setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of direct care experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency insurance requirements.
• CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain.
• Medication Administration certification, if designated.
• Act 33 and Act 34 clearances required; FBI clearance required if applicable.
• Physical examination and tuberculosis testing as required by regulations.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in achieving goals outlined in ISPs.
• Assist with community outings, recreational activities, volunteer opportunities, and social engagement.
• Encourage independence, self-advocacy, and participation in meaningful daily activities.
• Assist with personal care needs, including feeding, hygiene, toileting, and mobility support.
• Support vocational and employment-related activities aligned with interests and goals.
• Monitor health, safety, and overall well-being throughout the day.
• Maintain accurate documentation, service notes, and electronic records.
• Participate in team meetings and provide input on progress and goal development.
• Transport individuals safely to activities, appointments, and events.
• Build positive relationships with individuals, families, coworkers, and community partners.
