Job summary

Sunrise Community Church Corporation is seeking a Direct Support professional to provide supervision and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them live valued lives in the community. The role requires a valid driver’s license with endorsements and driving experience, plus background and drug screenings.

You will support plans, ensure safety and well-being, and promote independence, while following care schedules and maintaining a respectful

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Driver's License with endorsements and at least 3 years of driving experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent if required by work location.
• Minimum one year of experience working in the human service field if required by work location.
• Must successfully complete required pre-employment Background and Drug Screenings.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and reports any suspected abuse or violations of an individual’s rights.
• Provides support, assistance and supervision to meet needs and goals per individual plans.
• Ensures training and support programs are implemented and documented per regulatory requirements.
• Protects health, safety and well-being of individuals at all times.
• Provides a positive environment that promotes independence and choice.
• Follows positioning schedules and uses proper equipment per plan.
• Provides necessary assistance for diet, texture and equipment as required.
• Keeps homes, outside areas and vehicles well maintained and organized.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
