Job summary

Normandy Schools Collaborative is seeking a 2nd Grade Elementary Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year in Normandy, Missouri. The role involves planning developmentally appropriate lessons, maintaining a productive classroom environment, and addressing individual student needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Missouri Teacher Certification appropriate for level and/or subject area of assignment.

Responsibilities

• Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Prepare lessons reflecting accommodations for individual differences.
• Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request by immediate supervisor.
• Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Guide learning toward achievement of curriculum goals with clear objectives for lessons and units.
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media suited to students’ needs.
• Strive to implement the district’s philosophy of education and objectives.
• Assess student accomplishments regularly and provide progress reports.
• Diagnose learning disabilities and seek district specialist assistance as required.
• Maintain safety and order; protect students and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records as required by policy and law.
• Assist administration in enforcing policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
• Make provisions for availability to students and parents outside instructional hours.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides and evaluate performance.
• Maintain and improve professional competence and participate in staff development.
• Attend staff meetings and serve on committees.
• Maintain professional relationships with colleagues and open lines of communication with students, parents, and community.
