City National Bank seeks a Senior Product Owner for its Empower Loan Origination System in San Francisco. You will own the product roadmap, translate complex business needs into actionable requirements, and ensure features deliver customer value and align with organizational goals.

You will capture feedback, document precise BRDs, and validate all deliverables through rigorous UAT to prevent gaps between ideas and execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• 5+ years hands-on experience with Empower Mortgage/HELOC loan origination systems and vendor ecosystem.
• Proven ability to manage backlogs for loan origination systems with vendor collaboration.
• Deep understanding of mortgage/HELOC workflows, compliance, and integration points.

Responsibilities

• Translate strategy into actionable product features and epics.
• Define and communicate a clear product vision to configuration teams and vendors.
• Maintain and prioritize a detailed backlog of user stories, features, and tasks.
• Ensure stories have clear acceptance criteria for implementation.
• Lead backlog refinement and agile ceremonies to streamline development.
• Serve as primary contact for clarifying requirements and prioritization.
• Protect the team from scope creep and negotiate sprint scope.
• Mentor junior product owners on best practices.
• Act as the face of the product to stakeholders and translate needs into backlog items.
• Document BRDs with actionable requirements and traceability to downstream deliverables.
• Coordinate across teams to ensure smooth delivery and traceability to BRDs and test scripts.
• Oversee UAT scripts and sign-off with QA and business stakeholders.
