Job summary

Shared Wellness Center is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals in daily living, foster independence, and encourage community participation. Positions include flexible schedules in Hatfield, PA with 1:1 or 2:1 client ratios and emphasis on dignity and empowerment.

This role emphasizes compassionate care, collaboration with the team, documentation of progress, and adherence to ISP/BSP plans to support personal goals and safe, meaningful daily activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in caregiving, social work, or similar roles is beneficial but not required.
• Mindset: a side-by-side approach empowering individuals.
• Strong communication, patience, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift or assist individuals with physical support; valid driver’s license if required.

Responsibilities

• Provide Direct Assistance: assist with daily activities, personal care, tasks, and community engagement while fostering independence.
• Embrace a Side-by-Side Mindset: partner with individuals and support their lead to build confidence.
• Support Personal Development: help with skill-building and steps toward personal goals in employment, education, and socialization.
• Promote Community Integration: guide individuals to participate in community activities respecting preferences.
• Ensure Health and Safety: maintain a safe environment and respond to health or behavioral concerns.
• Document Progress: log daily activities, progress, and observations to inform ISP/BSP.
