Job summary

The Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School in Worcester, MA is seeking an English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher for grades 4-5. The role focuses on direct ESL instruction, supports ELs, and collaborates with content teachers to ensure equitable access to programs.

The successful candidate will hold a MA ESL license for the appropriate grade level, SEI Endorsement, and a Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; a Master’s is preferred.

Qualifications

• BA in Education/ESL or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Experience with multilingual students.
• Knowledge of MA frameworks and DESE regulations for ELs.
• Valid MA ESL teaching license for the grade levels.
• SEI Endorsement required.

Responsibilities

• Model the school's mission and core values.
• Provide ESL instruction to English Learners (grades 4-5).
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to align ESL and content.
• Coordinate with ESL Director to support students.
• Administer state assessments such as ACCESS for ELLs and maintain records.
• Attend parent conferences and engage families in workshops.
• Participate in required professional development for ESL.
