The IRC responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. Operating in over 40 countries and 29 U.S. cities, the IRC leads the way from harm to home.
The IRC in Los Angeles's Employment Training Panel provides job readiness, digital literacy, and financial literacy training to newcomers and current clients with work authorization seeking employment. The goal is to help refugees achieve self-sufficiency through paid employment and retain employment for more than 90 days or a minimum of 500 work hours. Volunteers will assist the Workforce Literacy Program Specialist with managing the panel and supporting clients to prepare for and secure their first job in the U.S. on a 1:1 basis.
