Job summary

Merakey is seeking an Employment Training Specialist to provide guidance and support to individuals pursuing employment. The role covers assessments, career planning, job development and on-the-job coaching, across shifts in the Aliquippa area, with emphasis on independence and community inclusion.

You will collaborate with employers, families and planning teams, advocate for rights, document progress, and stay current with best practices in employment services.

Qualifications

• Assessments and individualized planning to help individuals obtain or maintain employment.
• Develop individualized career plans for clients.
• Support job development and placement efforts.
• Provide on-the-job coaching and support to promote workplace integration.
• Collaborate with employers, planning teams, families and community organizations.
• Advocate for rights and inclusion of individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Monitor progress and maintain documentation of services.
• Stay updated on trends and best practices in employment services.
• Receive certification in Supported Employment.

• Training and Support- Provide support to employers and assist with workplace accommodations.
• Collaboration and Coordination- Collaborate with individuals, employers, planning teams, families, and community organizations.
• Advocate- Advocate for rights and inclusion of individuals with developmental disabilities in the workforce.
• Progress Monitoring- Implement strategies to monitor progress.
• Provide Documentation- Document services delivered. Ensure notes are accurate and descriptive.
• Maintain contact with individual support teams.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in employment services
• Receive Supported Employment certification

• Complete State/Federal Criminal Background checks and Central Registry checks;
• Valid driver's license and abstract (not to exceed 5 points) if driving is required.

Employment Training Specialist

The Employment Training Specialist is responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals in their pursuit of employment and plays a crucial role in helping individuals achieve meaningful employment and promote their independence and inclusion within the workforce. This fee-for-service role will be based in Aliquippa Area covering various shifts.
