Job summary

Merakey is seeking an Employment Training Specialist to support individuals in pursuing meaningful employment and to promote independence and inclusion in the workforce. The role is fee-for-service and based in the Aliquippa Area, covering various shifts.

The ideal candidate will have certifications and complete background checks, with a focus on progress monitoring and collaboration with teams and employers to remove barriers to employment.

Qualifications

• Must pass State and Federal background checks.
• Must pass Central Registry checks.
• Must have a valid driver's license and abstract if driving is required.
• Obtain and maintain Supported Employment Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assessments and individualized planning: assess skills and develop plans to help individuals obtain or maintain employment.
• Develop a career pathway.
• Job development and placement: address barriers to employment, assist with resume writing, interviewing, social skills, and workplace behavior.
• Job coaching and support: provide on-the-job support and strategies for workplace integration.
• Training and support: provide support to employers and assist with workplace accommodations.
• Collaboration and coordination with individuals, employers, planning teams, families, and community organizations.
• Advocate for rights and inclusion of individuals with developmental disabilities in the workforce.
• Progress monitoring: implement strategies to monitor progress.
• Provide documentation: ensure notes are accurate and descriptive.
• Maintain contact with individual support teams.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in employment services.

Employment Training Specialist

The Employment Training Specialist is responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals in their pursuit of employment and plays a crucial role in helping individuals achieve meaningful employment and promote their independence and inclusion within the workforce.

This fee-for-service role will be based in Aliquippa Area covering various shifts.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assessments and Individualized Planning- Assess skills and develop individualized plans to assist individuals in obtaining/maintaining employment.


• Develop a career pathway.


• Job Development and Placement- Address any barriers/ potential barriers to employment, assist with job searching skills, resume writing, interviewing/social skills, and workplace behavior.
