As an Employment Support Specialist, each day is spent helping individuals with disabilities achieve greater independence through meaningful employment and community involvement. You\'ll meet with clients in the community, at workplaces, and occasionally in their homes to provide job coaching, career exploration, and life-skills training. Your work may include helping someone build a resume, prepare for an interview, navigate public transportation, learn workplace expectations, or resolve challenges on the job. You collaborate with employers, families, and interdisciplinary team members to support employment success and long-term job retention while advocating for each person\'s goals and needs. Alongside direct support, you document progress, develop individualized goals, attend team meetings, and coordinate services that empower consumers to build confidence, maintain employment, and actively participate in their communities.
