Job summary

YWCA Seattle King Snohomish is seeking an Employment Specialist to support TANF participants in achieving unsubsidized employment within 6–9 months. The role involves collaborating with DSHS, employers, and non-profits to build readiness, training, and placement opportunities, while maintaining participant records in EJAS and meeting reporting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social services, social work, education, or related field.
• Knowledge of local labor market and target populations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer competencies (email, calendar, data entry) and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, screen, determine eligibility, enroll and orient program participants.
• Administer, score, and interpret skills and interest assessments.
• Determine clients’ job readiness and training needs; develop development plans.
• Provide job search preparation, resume coaching, and employer referrals.
• Make job placements and maintain client files; collect statistics and report outcomes.
• Develop relationships with local employers to create job and internship opportunities.
• Travel between multiple work sites, attend meetings and trainings as required.
• Support agency-wide Race and Social Justice Initiative and anti-racism policy in daily work.
