JOB SUMMARY: Employment Specialist I assist job seekers with finding employment to ensure long term stability and job retention. They work with job seekers to identify areas of interest, evaluate barriers, and create employment plans to locate training, job, or career tracks that make sense for the individual. All certificate and program graduates and Employment Services Center (ESC) clients have access to the Employment Specialist for access to Goodwill employer partners and the identification of additional support for continuity in employment.

Essential Job Functions
- Assist clients with job searches.
- Teach basic computer navigation skills to clients.
- Help job seekers with resumes, cover letters, and job applications in the Employment Services Center and through 1:1 coaching.
- Complete assessments, employment plans, and conduct interviews to determine employability and access to employment opportunities.
- Serve as the employment resource for GCPI program graduates and ESC clients.
- Support job seekers with interview resources and documentation needs.
- Assist clients in obtaining necessary identification documents and advocate on their behalf with employers.
- Maintain partnerships, conduct training workshops, and manage data and documentation.
- Participate in community meetings, maintain CARF records, and communicate with recruiters.
- Alternate between serving in the ESC and providing 1:1 coaching for GCPI clients.
- Review and adjust employment goals, refer clients to partner agencies, and ensure HIPAA compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Some college work and/or an Associate’s Degree preferred.
- Ability to work with diverse populations facing barriers to employment.
- Experience in job development preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office and internet navigation.
- Valid driver’s license, insurance, and a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements
- Sitting, standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, computer operation.
Working Conditions
- Climate-controlled environment, low to moderate noise, 40 hours/week, flexible schedule for outreach, occasional travel.
