Job summary

The Opportunity Foundation of Central Oregon is seeking an Employment Specialist to provide vocational support for adults with developmental disabilities in Thrift Stores and community job sites in Oregon. You will coordinate with families and the support team to secure meaningful employment and train both employees and employers in effective communication and workplace accommodations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services or related field preferred.
• Must be able to obtain Employment Outcomes Professional certificate.
• Experience working with adults with disabilities or experience in employment rehabilitation preferred.
• May require a flexible work schedule (weekends/evenings).
• Consistently maintaining confidentiality is a priority in this position.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to get along with others and recognize the need for diversity and flexibility.
• Must pass the criminal background check (Oregon BCU).
• Must possess a valid Oregon driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Must pass pre-employment and random drug screening.
• Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification.
• Must complete 12 hours of job-related in-service training annually.
