Job summary

Community Options, Inc. seeks a Full Time Employment Specialist in Wrightsville, PA to train individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in essential employment skills.

The role focuses on resume creation, job applications, and interview coaching to help clients gain and maintain employment. The Employment Specialist will also teach job skills, support task analysis, and help build a community network while ensuring documentation and reporting are completed accurately and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work individually and with a team to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals through the employment process, including resume development, job applications, and interviews.
• Teach independent job skills and supports, including assistive technology.
• Analyze tasks with individuals and break them into manageable steps.
• Identify and solve problems before they escalate.
• Build a support network between individuals and community members.
• Communicate progress updates to employers, families, staff, and management.
• Maintain accurate program documentation and billable records.
• Report program status updates regularly.
• Cooperate with the licensee and department staff during inspections.
• Additional tasks may be assigned.
