Position Summary

The High Impact Prevention Services (HIPS) for Communities of Color is a program funded by the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute, aimed at decreasing HIV transmission risk. It supports access to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and addresses social determinants of health that impede care. The program focuses on increasing HIV screening, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention at JPAFHC and in the communities served in Queens and Brooklyn.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate employment training, assessments, materials, and referrals for HIPS clients.
• Facilitate bi-monthly workshops on Job Search, Cover Letter and Resume Writing, and Interview Skills.
• Develop educational materials and assess clients' job readiness.
• Provide individual job search assistance, resume review, and interview practice.
• Work mainly from JPAFHC's patient drop-in centers and participate in outreach events to recruit clients and distribute materials.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate/Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, English, Marketing, or Education, or two years of relevant work/volunteer experience.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic medical records preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
