Direct Counsel is seeking a Mid-Level Employment Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Phoenix, Arizona office. The ideal candidate will have strong employment litigation and counseling experience to handle sophisticated workplace matters in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in employment litigation and/or counseling.
• Strong litigation experience involving employment claims and restrictive covenant disputes.
• Significant experience with bonus and pay plans, employee handbooks, arbitration agreements, and HR counseling.
• Significant labor and employment law experience preferred.
• Strong general litigation experience with interest in labor and employment law.
• Excellent academic credentials and strong writing/research skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and competing priorities.
• Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
• Admission to the Arizona Bar is required.

Responsibilities

• Handle employment litigation matters involving a broad range of employment claims.
• Represent employers in restrictive covenant disputes and related litigation.
• Advise clients on employment-related issues and day-to-day HR matters.
• Counsel clients regarding bonus and compensation plans, employee handbooks, arbitration agreements, and employment policies.
• Provide counseling support to HR professionals and business leaders.
• Manage multiple cases and matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Work independently while collaborating with attorneys and other professionals as part of a team.
• Provide practical, strategic legal advice focused on clients' business objectives.
