Job summary

DLA Piper seeks Employment Associates for its California Offices (San Francisco, Palo Alto, Los Angeles, or San Diego). The Associate will handle litigation management, legal research, drafting, and other employment-related tasks for both class actions and single-plaintiff matters.

The role involves drafting and negotiating employment, severance, and related agreements; advising on reductions in force, restrictive covenants, policies, training and leave practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of labor and employment experience including litigation.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws and California Labor Code.
• Experience defending class actions and PAGA claims with trial exposure.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation and conduct legal research, drafting, and related tasks for wage-and-hour matters, class actions, and single-plaintiff cases.
• Draft and negotiate employment, termination/severance, and related agreements; advise on reductions in force.
• Provide day-to-day advice and counsel to clients and support partners in employment investigations and policy matters.
