Job summary

Ogletree Deakins in Atlanta is seeking an Employment Litigation Associate to join its premier labor and employment practice. The role involves representing national employers, performing research, drafting memoranda, motions, pleadings, and counseling clients on employment-law matters.

The ideal candidate has a Juris Doctor and at least 3 years of employment litigation experience, with strong analytical and writing skills, and a demonstrated ability to work well in a collegial, team-oriented

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of employment litigation experience.
  • Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform legal research and draft memoranda, motions and pleadings.

  • Counsel clients on employment-law matters.

Position Summary

Our Atlanta office has an opportunity for an Employment Litigation Associate to join the firm’s dynamic and long-established practice representing premier local and national employers. This is an excellent opportunity for associates to provide legal service within a sophisticated practice and who are seeking to assume a significant role in all aspects of labor and employment law. This role requires extensive contact with clients, governmental agencies and opposing counsel.

Duties include, but are not limited to, performing legal research, drafting of legal memoranda, motions, and pleadings, attending court conferences, handling discovery-related activities and investigations, drafting of position statements and dispositive motions, and counseling clients on employment-law-related matters.

The right candidate will have a passion for employment law, strong analytical and writing skills, and an ability to relate to and inspire confidence with sophisticated business clients. This is a great opportunity for the right lawyer to join a national employment law practice in a tight-knit, collegial and team-oriented environment.

Requirements
  • Juris Doctor. Qualified candidates must be and remain licensed to practice law and in good standing in Georgia;
  • Candidates must possess 3+ years of employment litigation experience;
  • Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills are required.
