gpac is seeking an experienced Employment Law Attorney to join a well-established and growing law firm in Chicago. You will handle a broad range of employment law matters and own cases from evaluation through resolution, with strong litigation, research, and client-focused representation.

The ideal candidate has a J.D., Illinois license, and 3+ years of employment law experience, plus excellent written and verbal communication skills. Hybrid work options and full benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Active license to practice law in Illinois.
• 3+ years of employment law experience.
• Strong litigation and legal research/writing skills.
• Experience handling employment disputes from inception through resolution preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to independently manage matters while working effectively as part of a team.
• Experience with Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, IHRA, IWA, and related laws.
• Experience with wage and hour, class, and collective actions matters.

Responsibilities

• Handle employment law matters from inception through resolution.
• Represent clients in employment-related litigation and disputes.
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Manage discovery, depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Advise clients regarding employment-related laws, policies, and workplace disputes.
• Analyze claims involving wage and hour issues, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and other employment matters.
• Develop case strategies and communicate recommendations to clients.
• Work closely with attorneys and support staff to efficiently manage a caseload.
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide responsive, practical legal advice.
