Job summary

ServiceSource, Inc. is seeking a full-time Employment Development Specialist in Oakton, Virginia. Job Description Summary

This position is for a full-time Employment Development Specialist in the Northern Virginia area. This position will be responsible for developing community employment opportunities and providing community-based job development, as well as supporting advancement opportunities for people with disabilities. The person in this position will work in consultation with the Supported Employment (SE) team during the entire employment process for an individual with a disability. A successful candidate must be goal oriented, independently motivated, and have a competitive edge.

Job Description

Primary Duties

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.

  • Conducting intakes, inventories, and assessments to establish employment goals.
  • Conducting activities for job searches and placement.
  • Providing job-coaching and long-term support services.
  • Developing positive relationships with businesses, community agencies, other departments, and outside vendors.
  • Providing general case management including detailed report writing.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform task and job-site analysis on selected sites to assure appropriate job matches.
  • Provide consultation, guidance, and disability awareness training (as needed) to employers and business representatives.
  • Complete accurate and timely monthly billing reports, participant reports, case notes, and other supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate and participate in interdisciplinary team process and other meetings pertaining to participant's individual support plan; prepare annual individual support plans.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)
  • Bachelor's Degree plus one (1) year of experience working with individuals with disabilities or an associate degree plus three (3) years of experience working with individuals with disabilities is required.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, to include evenings and weekends is required. This position's schedule will mirror the work hours of the assigned job seeker/employee and /or employer.
  • Valid driver's license and/or access to reliable transportation to perform work-related travel required. Eligible drivers must have a good motor vehicle record (MVR).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge and/or experience in ABA therapy and/or Positive Behavioral Supports preferred.
  • Experience working in job development or vocational supports preferred.
  • Experience in marketing or sales preferred.
  • Experience in case management and/or documentation preferred.
  • A creative and charismatic self-starter with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Possess a competitive nature and a desire to achieve and exceed monthly expectations.

The employee will be visiting a variety of employer worksites in the community, which can vary with regards to noise level and weather/temperature conditions.
