Job summary

Jobot, a well known boutique employment defense firm in Delmar Heights, seeks an experienced attorney to represent employers in all areas of employment law. Responsibilities include litigation management from pleadings to trial and providing preventative advice.

The ideal candidate has a JD, active CA bar, at least 2 years civil defense experience, strong negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple cases with meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
• Active CA state bar member in good standing.
• Minimum 2 years of civil defense litigation experience.
• Experience in insurance defense and liability matters.
• Strong trial advocacy and negotiation skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Represent employers in employment law matters including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour disputes, and workers' compensation claims.
• Manage all phases of litigation: pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial participation.
• Provide preventative counsel by drafting employment policies, conducting investigations, and delivering training on employment law.
• Negotiate and draft settlement agreements on behalf of employers.
• Stay current with developments in employment law and collaborate with the legal team to achieve favorable outcomes.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Representing employers in all areas of employment law, including but not limited to wrongful termination, discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, wage and hour disputes, and workers' compensation claims.
• Handling all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, preparing and arguing motions, and participating in trial.
• Providing preventative legal advice to employers, including drafting employment policies and procedures, conducting workplace investigations, and providing training on employment law issues.
• Negotiating and drafting settlement agreements on behalf of employers.
• Staying abreast of current trends, practices, and developments in employment law.
• Collaborating with other members of the legal team to strategize and achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
