Job summary

Tanium Inc. is seeking an experienced Employment Counsel to join its legal team. You will partner with the People team and business leaders to address a wide array of U.S. employment issues in a fast-paced global tech environment.

The role requires strong advisory skills, policy development, and extensive experience in employment law, investigations, and employment documents. This position reports to the Legal department and supports OFCCP compliance as needed.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to a U.S. bar.
• 5+ years advising on U.S. employment law, ideally in tech or global settings.
• Experience with HR policy development and employee relations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic counsel on a broad range of U.S. employment issues for the People team and business stakeholders.
• Oversee internal workplace investigations and respond to claims and inquiries.
• Manage pre-litigation matters and coordinate with outside counsel as needed.

Job description

Tanium is seeking a highly motivated, proactive attorney to join its legal team as Employment Counsel. The right person for this position must be a team player who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, has a pragmatic approach to problem solving, and is passionate about employment law and its practical application in a complex, global technology business. This person will serve as a trusted advisor to our People team and business stakeholders , helping Tanium attract, develop, and retain top talent while managing legal risk.

What you’ll do:

• Provide strategic advice and counsel to the People team and business stakeholders on a broad range of U.S. employment issues, including recruiting and hiring, onboarding, performance management, disciplinary actions, leaves of absence, accommodations, wage and hour compliance, compensation and benefits, pay transparency, contingent workers, employee classification, reorganizations, redundancies, non-competition and non-solicitation, and separations and terminations
• Oversee internal workplace investigations, including matters involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower complaints, and policy violations
• Investigate and respond to claims, demand letters, administrative complaints, audits, and other employment-related inquiries
• Manage pre-litigation and litigation matters with the assistance of outside counsel as needed
• Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related documents and templates, including offer letters, employment agreements, contingent worker agreements, separation and severance agreements, and release agreements
• Develop, review, and update employment policies, standards, and HR guidelines to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws
• Support Tanium’s federal contractor compliance obligations, including OFCCP compliance evaluations and AAP preparation and maintenance under VEVRAA and Section 503
