Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking an experienced Employment Counsel in New York, NY or Edison, NJ. The role requires active office presence five days a week and focuses on litigating and advising on domestic employment law issues.

You will provide day-to-day counsel, collaborate with HR on investigations, draft termination releases, and manage outside counsel for litigation. A strong law degree and 5+ years in employment law are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of employment law and litigation experience.
• In-house experience preferred.
• Law degree from a top-tier law school.
• Strong analytical capabilities and judgment.
• Office-based role; not a work-from-home role.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day proactive employment law advice, assistance and counseling
• Work with HR to help manage and respond to employee relations issues, investigations and grievances
• Create, customize and update release agreements for terminating employees
• Review disciplinary actions and terminations with HR
• Assist in managing responses to subpoenas and document requests
• Recommend, implement and continuously improve employment law related training
• Respond to administrative complaints and Department of Labor investigations
• Maintain employment law files and databases
• Respond to EEOC complaints
• Assist with employment law litigation matters
• Provide guidance to the other employment counsel and develop strategy of the employment practice.
• Manage and supervise outside counsel, as required

Employment Counsel

TCS seeks an employment law attorney with experience in litigating and advising on domestic employment law issues.

• A law degree from a top tier law school and be in good standing to practice in any state in the United States.
• Strong analytical capabilities and judgment.
• Ability to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team as well as cross-functionally across teams.
• Willingness to tackle matters outside area of expertise.
• Interact with HR teams and other legal team members (hence this is an office role and not a work from home role)

Salary Range: $115,000 - $160,000 a year

MASTERS IN LAW
