Job summary

KPG99 INC is seeking an Employment Counsel with consulting firm experience to join our New York or Edison offices onsite.

You will provide day-to-day employment law advice, handle investigations, draft release agreements, manage disputes, and supervise outside counsel while coordinating with HR and legal teams.

The role requires at least 5 years of employment law and litigation, a JD from a top law school and bar admission; this office-based position emphasizes collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience focused on employment law and litigation, preferably with some experience in-house.
  • A law degree from a top tier law school and be in good standing to practice in any state in the United States.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and judgment.
  • Ability to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team as well as cross-functionally across teams.
  • Willingness to tackle matters outside area of expertise.
  • Interact with HR teams and other legal team members (hence this is an office role and not a work from home role)

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day proactive employment law advice, assistance and counseling
  • Work with HR to help manage and respond to employee relations issues, investigations and grievances
  • Create, customize and update release agreements for terminating employees
  • Review disciplinary actions and terminations with HR
  • Assist in managing responses to subpoenas and document requests
  • Recommend, implement and continuously improve employment law related training
  • Respond to administrative complaints and Department of Labor investigations
  • Maintain employment law files and databases
  • Respond to EEOC complaints
  • Assist with employment law litigation matters
  • Provide guidance to the other employment counsel and develop strategy of the employment practice.
  • Manage and supervise outside counsel, as required
