Job summary

Easterseals Crossroads in Indianapolis is seeking an Employment Consultant to help individuals secure and maintain employment that matches their needs and abilities. You will develop positive relationships with businesses to identify opportunities, provide individualized assessment, job development, and on-the-job training, and offer long-term support as needed.

You will educate, advocate, and build natural supports with coworkers, families, and supervisors to facilitate lasting job retention,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Business or related field preferred.
• Experience working as employment consultant or similar position may be substituted for degree.
• Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities highly preferred.
• A current, valid Indiana Driver's license and proof of auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Develop a Discovery Profile for Employment Services for each assigned consumer.
• Coordinate job development activities including resume preparation, identification of job opportunities, applications, interviews, and employer advocacy as needed.
• Conduct on-site job analysis and provide on-the-job training.
• Provide post-employment supports for a minimum of 90 days.
• Complete and submission of all required documentation and billing in the electronic case record.
• Maintain regular, on-going communication with referral and funding sources.
• Meet regularly with each assigned consumer during job search (at least monthly).
• Attend required staff meetings, in-services and trainings.
