Job summary

The Center for Counseling in Kansas is seeking an Employment Specialist Case Manager to help adults with severe and persistent mental illness gain independence through meaningful work and community support. You will coach clients on-site and in the community, assist with resumes and applications, and develop individualized employment plans in collaboration with treatment teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four years of equivalent work experience.
• Valid Kansas driver’s license.
• Background free of issues related to abuse or neglect.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and participate in random drug screenings as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and community-based job coaching and employment support.
• Assist clients with resume writing, job applications, interview preparation, and workplace readiness skills.
• Collaborate with clients and treatment teams to develop individualized employment plans.
• Maintain relationships with employers and identify potential employment opportunities within the community.
• Advocate for reasonable workplace accommodations when appropriate.
• Coordinate with the Social Security Administration to support clients in maintaining or accessing benefits.
• Stay informed about local employment trends and opportunities.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation related to employment services and client care.
• Protect client confidentiality and ensure required releases and documentation remain current.
• Participate in required trainings, in-services, and professional development opportunities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
