Salary Range: $24.00 Hourly

Travel Percentage: Up to 25%

Schedule: Varied schedule, up to 28 hours per week.

Position Summary

Make a difference in someone's life! We seek a responsible and caring individual to mentor and support individuals with developmental disabilities at their job sites and assist with job development for those seeking employment in the Los Angeles / San Fernando Valley.

Open position:

  • Woodland Hills - Monday to Friday, 28 hours/week, availability between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM required

Starting rate: $24/hour plus mileage and cell phone reimbursement, plus bonus incentives for job placements ($100-600, prorated).

In this role, you will support individuals with:

  • Job development, resume building, interview practice, and employability skills
  • Transportation and community access
  • Maintaining employment and productivity
  • Discovering interests, skills, and employment goals
  • Creating meaningful daily schedules with their support circle

Building healthy relationships is key. Develop respectful, professional relationships with the individuals served and help them foster positive connections with coworkers, roommates, and neighbors.

Skills and Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • College experience or degree preferred but not required
  • Reliable vehicle passing safety inspection
  • Clean DMV record
  • Experience with positive behavior support is a plus
  • Experience or interest in ASD is a plus
  • Bi-lingual skills are desirable
  • First Aid / CPR certification preferred (training provided)

Comprehensive paid training provided at hire and ongoing.

  • Execute directives from leadership to meet service and support needs
  • Mentor individuals, focusing on health, safety, and quality of life
  • Provide job development and on-the-job support guided by PBIS and instructional strategies
  • Assist in gathering information for personalized support plans
  • Utilize digital tools for employment support and development
  • Maintain relationships with employers and volunteer sites

Responsibilities

  • Practice person-centered values and respectful communication
  • Build esteem and competence in interactions
  • Implement community-integrated employment services
  • Develop work schedules and find placement opportunities
  • Encourage meaningful employment activities
  • Conduct job site analysis and adapt strategies accordingly
  • Support healthcare needs as required
  • Follow individual service plan goals and monitor progress
  • Ensure punctuality and professionalism
  • Maintain communication with employers and document activities
  • Participate in training and staff development
  • Support emergency procedures and report incidents
  • Collaborate on employment discovery and job development activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

  • Stand, sit, and walk as specified, lift and carry weights, and perform driving duties
  • Use of mobile devices and adherence to policies required

Work Environment

  • Office, community, home supports, outdoor settings
