Job Title: Senior Employment Attorney – Public School District Defense

Location: Remote (California-based)

Experience Level: 10+ Years

Practice Area: Education Law / Public Sector Employment

Job Description: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Employment Attorney to represent public school districts in employment and labor matters. This remote California-based role is ideal for an attorney with a strong background in public education law, employee discipline, administrative hearings, and compliance with the Education Code.

Responsibilities:

  • Defend school districts in employment disputes, including PERB and OAH hearings

  • Advise on employee discipline, dismissal, and labor relations

  • Provide guidance on Education Code compliance, Title IX, and collective bargaining

  • Draft legal documents and represent clients in administrative and court proceedings

  • Offer training and legal counsel to school administrators and HR teams

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school; active California Bar member

  • Minimum 10 years of employment law experience, with a focus on public school or public sector defense

  • Strong knowledge of California labor laws, Education Code, and PERB processes

  • Excellent writing, advocacy, and client counseling skills

  • California residency with ability to attend occasional in-person hearings or meetings

Compensation: $200,000–$275,000 annually, based on experience. Includes bonus potential and full benefits package. Work Environment: Remote within California, with flexible support and resources.
