Job Overview:
A nationally recognized employment law firm is seeking a Employee Rights Attorney for its expanding office in Charlotte, NC. This full-time, permanent position is ideal for attorneys passionate about advocating for workers’ rights, including cases involving discrimination, harassment, wage disputes, and wrongful termination. The role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while building a litigation-focused legal career in a firm that values empathy, communication, and professional growth.

Location: Charlotte, NC

Duties:

  1. Draft legal pleadings for employment law cases
  2. Handle the discovery process, including managing documentation and interrogatories
  3. Conduct depositions and client interviews
  4. Participate in trial proceedings
  5. Evaluate claims related to:
    1. FMLA violations
    2. Overtime and wage disputes
    3. Wrongful termination
  6. Negotiate settlements and advocate on behalf of clients
  7. Collaborate with staff and managers to coordinate consultations and case screenings
  8. Maintain consistent client communication throughout case lifecycles

Requirements:

  1. Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  2. Licensed to practice law in North Carolina, or awaiting NC bar results while licensed in another state
  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  4. Ability to demonstrate empathy with clients from diverse backgrounds
  5. Effective time management and organizational skills
  6. Willingness to handle a broad range of employment-related legal matters

Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree required

Certifications: Active license to practice law in North Carolina or eligibility based on bar results and out-of-state licensure
