Job summary

Jabil is seeking an Employee Relations Specialist to foster a positive work environment at our Florence, KY campus. You will investigate concerns, guide managers, and ensure policy and labor law compliance.

You will train managers on conflict resolution and diversity, maintain confidential case records, and collaborate with HRBPs and legal counsel to address complex issues. This role requires attention to detail and independent teamwork in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Master's degree or HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct impartial investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and misconduct.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on ER issues, performance management, discipline, and policy interpretation.
  • Facilitate mediations and conflict resolution processes.
  • Ensure consistent application of policies and labor laws across the organization.
  • Develop and deliver training on communication, conflict resolution, diversity and inclusion, and anti-harassment.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records of ER cases and investigations.
  • Collaborate with HRBPs and legal counsel on complex ER issues.
  • Stay updated on employment law changes and best practices.

How Will You Make An Impact?

The Employee Relations Specialist at Jabil, Inc. will be responsible for fostering a positive and productive work environment by providing expert guidance and support on employee relations matters. This role involves resolving workplace issues, ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws, and promoting fair and consistent treatment for all employees.

Location:

This role will be based on-site at our Florence, KY facility and will be a campus resource.

Shift:

This individual will be working 1st/2nd shifts, as necessary, so flexibility will be needed.

What Will You Do?
  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and alleged misconduct, including harassment, discrimination, and policy violations.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers and employees on employee relations issues, including performance management, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
  • Facilitate mediations and other conflict resolution processes to resolve workplace disputes constructively.
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies, procedures, and relevant labor laws across all levels of the organization.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for managers and employees on topics such as effective communication, conflict resolution, diversity and inclusion, and anti-harassment.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all employee relations cases and investigations.
  • Partner with Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs) and legal counsel to address complex employee relations issues and ensure compliance.
  • Stay abreast of changes in employment law and best practices in employee relations, recommending updates to company policies as needed.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement and a positive workplace culture.
  • Prepare reports and analyze data related to employee relations trends, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions.
How Will You Get Here?
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
Experience:
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in employee relations or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or technology environment.
  • Some high-volume ER case experience, more specifically relating to the non-exempt population.
  • Or equivalent education, experience, and/or training.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Demonstrated exposure conducting objective and thorough investigations into workplace complaints.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, ADA, FMLA, Title VII).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and active listening skills.
  • Excellent conflict resolution, mediation, and negotiation abilities.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment and discretion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
