Job summary

Labcorp is seeking an Employee Relations Partner to join our team in Durham, NC or Burlington, NC, with a hybrid work schedule.

The role conducts investigations into employee relations concerns, prepares reports, and supports managers with performance improvement plans. Strong communication and knowledge of employment laws are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 2+ years of experience in Employee Relations (ER) or as a Human Resource Business Partner
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in HRM or Business Administration
• HR Certification such as SPHR-CP, SPHR-SCP, PHR, or aPHR

Responsibilities

• Investigates employee relations concerns such as harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and workplace violence with adherence to policies and regulations.
• Provides clear, timely communication and comprehensive reports with supporting documentation.
• Effectively conducts interviews and manages cases using ServiceNow.
• Supports development of an inclusive, positive workplace culture.
• Coaches managers on Performance Improvement Plans and termination reviews with HR Leaders.

Labcorp is seeking an Employee Relations Partner to join our team in Durham, NC or Burlington, NC, with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule!

Job Responsibilities

• Conducts detailed investigations into a range of employee relations concerns such as harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and workplace violence, adhering to all applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

• Provides clear, timely communication regarding investigations, offering comprehensive reports with supporting documentation.

• Employs effective interviewing and documentation techniques; adeptly manage cases using designated online case management tool ServiceNow.

• Supports the development of an inclusive and positive workplace culture.

• Supports and coaches Managers in developing, delivering, and monitoring Performance Improvement plan.

• Partners with business leaders/ HR Leaders reviewing termination recommendations.

• Provides clear, concise and timely communication, report summary and relevant documentation regarding investigations.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma

• 2 or more years of experience in Employee Relations (ER) or as a Human Resource Business Partner

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration

• Human Resources Certification such as SPHR-CP, SPHR-SCP, PHR, or aPHR

Additional Job Standards

• Experience conducting investigations and advising on a wide range of sensitive and complex employee relations issues, including performance management, interpersonal manager/employee conflicts or complaints, leaves, accommodations, and behavioral conduct issues.

• Knowledge of relevant employment and labor laws.

• Ability to problem solve with minimal guidance but willingness to ask for help if appropriate.

• Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

• Ability to conduct a thorough and complete investigation.

• Strong problem-solving skills with minimal guidance required.

• Flexibility and willingness to handle competing priorities and assist others as needed in a team environment.

• Ability to make timely along with informed objective decisions.

The Employee Relations Partner reports to Senior Employee Relations Manager. This role will conduct mid to high level investigations, managing employee issues to resolution, as well as managing employee relations programs and policies. This position interfaces with all employees, including management, Legal, HRBPs and external stakeholders, to maintain positive employee relations and resolve workplace issues between employees and management.

Applicants who live within 35 miles of either the Burlington, NC or Durham, NC location will follow a hybrid schedule. This schedule includes a minimum of three in-office days per week at an assigned location, either Burlington or Durham, supporting both collaboration and flexibility.

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
