HDR is seeking an entry-level Substation Designer to join our Power Delivery team in North Carolina. You will prepare electrical substation designs ranging from device replacements to greenfield sites, learn both protection and control and physical design, and collaborate with project managers to deliver reliable power systems.

You will have the opportunity to obtain EIT certification within six months and gain hands-on experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation while working on diverse

Competenze

• The candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and be prepared to obtain EIT certification within 6 months.
• Experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation is preferred for creating and reviewing substation designs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in a team.

Mansioni

• Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, and design deliverables for electrical substations (low to high voltage).
• Develop one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, and grounding studies.
• Coordinate with Designers and CAD Technicians to ensure compliance with standards and project specs.
• Conduct site visits during design, construction, and as-built phases and document findings.
• Support project engineers and managers to meet schedule and quality targets.
