Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking a Substation Commissioning Technician to verify and test transmission equipment per contract requirements at sites in Arkansas. You will set up equipment, perform SCADA and relay tests, and document results while adhering to safety standards. This role offers an ESOP-owned environment with strong growth potential.

Preferred candidates have NICET/NETA certification and 2+ years startup experience, plus familiarity with Doble or Megger gear.

Qualifications

• NICET or NETA certification preferred and 2+ years startup experience.
• Familiarity with protection relays, RTU/RTAC testing is expected.
• Able to use Doble and Megger testing gear on substations.

Responsibilities

• Set up substation equipment and verify commissioning per contract.
• Conduct alarms checks and SCADA testing per commissioning package.
• Load/test protection relays and RTU/RTAC settings.
• Perform functional tests and prepare commissioning docs.
• Follow safety procedures and support continuous improvement.
