Job summary

Wallick Communities, a 100% employee-owned company, seeks a Property Accountant at its New Albany, OH corporate office. The role focuses on preparing financial statements for assigned communities, performing variance analysis, reviewing entries, and coordinating with lenders, investors, and government agencies.

The position requires a bachelor’s in accounting or real estate or equivalent experience (5+ years). Strong Excel skills and ability to communicate clearly are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or real estate earned or equivalent experience (5+ years).
• Ability to record journal entries accurately and evaluate financial statements.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of HUD, Tax credit, public housing regulations.

Responsibilities

• Work with lenders, investors, regulatory agencies on reporting and inquiries.
• Review audits and tax returns for assigned sites.
• Assist in annual budgeting for the sites.
• Learn complex accounting transactions (acquisitions, refinancing, etc.).
• Support internal controls improvements and efficiency projects.
• Learn HUD, RD, and other regulatory requirements.
• Ensure timely payments and accurate accruals; analyze variances.
