Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Dallas Fort Worth seeks an experienced Project Manager for the Overhead Transmission Line department. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage schedules and budgets, and ensure project success from concept to completion.

The role emphasizes client relationship growth, proactive risk management, and coordination with Account Managers for new opportunities. Occasional travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 7 years of related experience, including 3+ years managing engineering projects in Transmission & Distribution.
• Master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to apply knowledge to broad assignments.
• Experience producing engineering design and construction documents.
• Proven ability to develop business and establish client relationships.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
• Professional registration preferred; consulting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall management of projects from concept to completion, including siting, environmental, permitting, planning, and controls.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, manage scope, and control costs.
• Develop and implement project policies, procedures, controls, and execution plans.
• Direct and coordinate activities of multiple disciplines on projects of moderate scope.
• Collaborate with the project team to ensure client satisfaction and adherence to QA/QC guidelines.
• Own internal project financials, staffing forecasts, risk management, and change management.
• Manage all aspects of project communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Assist in client coordination, strategic planning, scope management, and contract negotiations.
• Travel to client and project locations as required.
• Pursue new business and expand relationships within existing accounts.
