Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Walker, MI is seeking a dedicated 3rd shift resistance welding operator. You will operate spot welders and a power press to weld, trim, punch, shape, notch, draw, or crimp metal, composite, or plastic stock, following exact blueprints and quality instructions.

You will inspect parts for conformance, record measurements, and escalate non-conformances while maintaining a clean workspace.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow work instructions and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operates resistance spot welders and a power press to weld, trim, punch, shape, notch, draw, or crimp metal, composite, or plastic stock.
• Inspects parts for conformance to specifications and discusses non-conformances with a team leader or quality inspector.
• Cleans machines and keeps the work area organized; completes paperwork and tags to track product flow.
• Observes safety, environmental, regulatory requirements and participates in training and continuous improvement activities.
• Works at multiple stations as production needs require and supports timely completion of customer requirements.
