Job summary

Thermcraft is seeking a dependable Mechanical Assembler in Winston-Salem, NC to turn blueprints and parts into complete, functional assemblies. You will read blueprints, align components, and fasten parts using hand and power tools, while maintaining quality and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, pays attention to detail, and collaborates with team members and engineering staff. Prior manufacturing experience and calipers/micrometers experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and how parts fit together.
• Ability to read work instructions and technical diagrams.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Detail-oriented with commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with team members and engineering staff.
• Preferred: 2–4 years in mechanical assembly or manufacturing and experience using calipers or micrometers.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow blueprints, drawings, work orders, and production schedules.
• Gather, clean, align, position, fit, and securely fasten parts and subassemblies.
• Use hand tools, power tools, hoists, templates, and related assembly equipment safely and effectively.
• Inspect finished assemblies using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Identify defects, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and complete adjustments, repairs, or rework to meet specifications.
• Complete production logs, quality checklists, and inventory requisitions accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow all safety and PPE requirements.
