Job summary

Evergreen Cooperative Laundry is seeking a Laundry Worker to join our employee-owned team in Cleveland. You will be responsible for washing, drying, folding, sorting and mending linens, while upholding safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, professionalism, and the ability to operate laundry equipment; evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Professional conduct and ethics are essential.
• Ability to work with professionalism and respect among staff.
• Experience operating laundry equipment.
• Knowledge of OSHA/local safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Sorts laundry items by label and loads machines with bedding, gowns, linens.
• Adds detergent and disinfectant solutions to the washer.
• Adjusts water temperature and starts the washer.
• Wrings out wet articles and dries them on timed cycles.
• Sorts and folds items into storage bins.
• Counts articles to verify laundry lists and uses weighing systems.
• Soaks contaminated items and applies dyes/bleaches per formulas.
• May mend torn articles and assist training.
• Adheres to safety policies and reports accidents promptly.
• Attends safety meetings and uses PPE as required.
