Job summary

Blythe Development is seeking a General Laborer to support highway and heavy construction projects. You will perform strenuous physical labor, use hand and power tools, prepare and maintain jobsites, dig trenches, set excavation braces, and remove rubble, debris, and waste materials.

You will also help keep the jobsite clean, organized, and secure; follow all safety and incident-reporting procedures; and promptly report problems to a supervisor.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry 50+ pounds.
• Ability to perform strenuous physical labor on highway and heavy construction projects.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a team-oriented construction environment.
• Ability to follow supervisor instructions, safety procedures, and incident-reporting requirements.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules, shifts, and project locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical labor on highway and heavy construction jobsites, including lifting and carrying tools and materials.
• Prepare jobsites by clearing work areas and assisting with traffic-control devices and work-zone protection.
• Dig and backfill trenches, assist with grading, drainage, and paving activities.
• Safely use hand and power tools and equipment.
• Follow foreman instructions and safety policies; report unsafe conditions promptly.
• Work cooperatively with the crew to complete tasks safely and on schedule.
