Job summary

EVAPCO, Inc. is seeking a Flat Welder to perform non-pressure boundary MIG welding of galvanized and stainless steel for cooling towers and condensers. You will read drawings, prepare parts, and ensure high-quality welds in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and be able to pass the Evapco Non-Pressure Boundary Welding Test. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Qualify and pass Evapco Non-Pressure Boundary Welding Test.
• Read and comprehend a tape measure to 1/32".
• Basic nomenclature and practical use of hand tools.
• Read Evapco production specs, engineering drawings, and BOMs.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate welding machine to weld various steel materials per drawings.
• Prepare stainless, galvanized, and black steel parts for welding.
• Produce full penetration, high-quality welds with dimensional compliance.
• Lay down proper tack welds and perform post-weld cleaning as required.
• Read and interpret engineering/production documents and drawings.
• Inspect parts, assemblies, and finished product as directed.
• May transfer to other departments to perform welding functions.
• Participate in team/shop problem-solving on quality, safety, and process improvements.
