Job summary

Schnabel is seeking a mid-level civil engineer in Helena, Montana to support our dams and hydraulic structures group. The role blends technical design with project management, including fieldwork and collaboration across Schnabel offices.

Required: ABET-accredited civil degree, 5+ years in relevant fields, PE or ability to become licensed within 6 months; proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit; willingness to travel and work on site. Salary range $73,000–$110,000.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 5+ years of relevant civil, water resources, mechanical and/or structural engineering experience around hydraulic structures.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design components related to water infrastructure (gates, valves, pipelines, pumps, fittings).
• Create 2D drawings in AutoCAD and 3D models in Civil 3D/Revit.
• Perform inspections of dams and hydraulic structures and prepare reports.
• Develop engineering recommendations and write technical reports.
