Job summary

Highland Homes is seeking an Architectural Design Manager to lead the design of new and existing residential products across brands. You will manage custom and renovation projects, align with the Product Development milestones, and collaborate with the Director of Design to integrate buyer insights, cost goals, and innovation into Highland's design DNA.

You will mentor junior designers, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure design excellence from concept through construction documents,

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of residential wood frame construction experience.
Experience designing high quality homes from entry level to custom residences.
Bachelor’s degree with 10 years progressive residential design work including AutoCAD, or a two-year degree with 12 years’ experience.
Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit and SketchUp is preferred.
Strong eye for detail and ability to read and interpret design plans.

Responsibilities

Lead design and development of floor plans, elevations, and detailing across product lines.
Prepare conceptual and schematic design packages for custom and standard products.
Guide material and color selections with the Director of Design.
Coordinate programming, scheduling, and delivery priorities in line with PDM milestones.
QA construction documents and resolve design issues; lead design reviews.
