Job summary

Custom Profile, a leader in custom thermoplastic profile extrusions, seeks a hands-on Production Supervisor for its Camden, SC facility on 2nd shift. You will lead daily operations, assign work, and drive on-time delivery in a cost-efficient manner.

You will coach and develop a team, implement process improvements, and uphold safety and quality standards to achieve zero defects. This role partners with the warehouse scheduler and requires strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Two years of hands-on supervisory experience or equivalent education/experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in plastics processing, preferably extrusion or custom injection molding.
• Strong organizational, follow-up, time-management, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic math skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, Gemba, and quality tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production operations and assign work to operators based on priorities and staffing needs.
• Coach employees, establish training objectives, reinforce accountability, and foster teamwork and professionalism.
• Implement and document process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce cycle times, minimize scrap and waste, and lower operating costs.
• Identify and resolve process issues, equipment malfunctions, and quality defects promptly to minimize downtime and scrap.
• Ensure employees follow company safety and quality standards and support the goals of zero defects and 100% on-time delivery.
• Partner with the Warehouse Manager/Scheduler to set priorities, schedule employees, and prepare required production paperwork.
• Develop, update, and follow standard operating procedures and work instructions.
• Maintain production records, process specification-change paperwork, and document opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Support employee relations activities, including recruiting, interviewing, performance reviews, corrective action, and separations.
• Serve as a liaison between employees and management while reinforcing the company’s mission, core values, goals, and quality policy.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and uphold daily housekeeping and 5S standards.
