Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking an Employee Health and Wellness Assistant to support clinical and administrative functions in the Occupational Health department. The role involves vital signs, vaccine administration prep, PFTs and audiometry, venipuncture, and EMR documentation, all while maintaining regulatory compliance and efficient clinic flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
• Current CMA, RMA, CCMA or equivalent certification is required or in hand.
• Preference for one year of ambulatory/occupational health experience.”

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document vital signs, histories, medications, and allergies for employee health visits.
• Prepare vaccines and maintain vaccine cold chain; assist with clinic flow to address needs.
• Perform PFTs, audiometric testing, and vision screening after training.
• Venipuncture and proper specimen labeling per lab protocols.
• Assist with post-exposure follow-up and surveillance programs.
• Enter data into the EMR and maintain organized employee health files.
