Job summary

Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen, Texas seeks an Employee and Occupational Health RN Coordinator to promote workforce well‑being, manage injuries, and guide prevention. You will lead screenings, return-to-work planning, and safety education to support safe patient care and reduce absenteeism.

Required are an RN license, a Bachelor’s degree, and 2 years of occupational/employee health in acute care; COHN/NBCOT preferred.

Qualifications

• RN with current licensure and registration.
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• At least 2 years of Occupational Health/Employee Health experience in an acute care setting.
• Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) or NBCOT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completing pre-employment and annual health screenings, immunizations, lab testing, and exposure tracking
• Assessing workplace injuries and exposures, providing first aid, clinical guidance, and initial care direction
• Managing occupational health cases, including follow-up care, work restrictions, and return-to-work planning
• Investigating safety events, identifying trends, documenting findings, and guiding prevention efforts
• Educating staff on safety practices, infection prevention, injury reduction, and workplace wellness
