Job description

You will be an essential part of the Rec Center at Wisteria Team, reporting to the Manager of the Rec Center at Wisteria. You’ll provide our guests with exceptional, safe service by fulfilling different roles throughout the day, dependent on the needs of the center.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Welcome Desk: When at the welcome desk, you’re ensuring our guests are welcomed, their questions are answered, documentation is accurately and efficiently completed, and payments are executed appropriately.

  • Greet each guest warmly and genuinely and offer assistance.
  • Tours prospective members to protocol.
  • Registers new members according to protocol.
  • Accurately operates the Point of Sales system while efficiently processing guest transactions.
  • Handle all cash to protocol.
  • Executes daily financial reporting, documentation, and cash drop to standard.
  • Kindly and efficiently troubleshoots and solve member issues.
  • Receive delivery orders and confirm the accuracy of both the order and the invoice.
  • Execute our opening checklist precisely to ensure the center is ready for guests.
  • Execute our “closing” checklist precisely to ensure the center is ready for overnight guests.

Center Attendant: When you’re in the fitness center, you’re ensuring the gym floor is ready for and welcoming to our guests. This means clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing. To be successful, you’ll:

  • Greet each guest warmly and genuinely and offer assistance.
  • Be knowledgeable of and offer assistance to our guests on safe weightlifting techniques, equipment usage, spotting, and equipment storage.
  • Know our equipment, supplies, safe handling procedures, and where to locate them.
  • Re-stocks and preps diminishing items in anticipation of meeting future guests’ needs.
  • Communicate and collaborate with management on inventory-both items that we’re low on and any short-dated items.
  • Perform routine and deep cleaning according to our schedule.
  • Ensure storage and backstock areas are organized and clean.
  • Executes equipment maintenance schedule to protocol.

Fitness Instructor:

  • Energetically and enthusiastically facilitates a minimum of 7 evidenced-based group fitness classes per 40-hour work week.
  • Tailors’ classes to participants’ needs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • A respectful, inclusive, people-centered, solution-oriented mindset. You pride yourself on your guest service skills, your ability to make people feel welcomed, your reliability, and your ability to maintain a positive outlook.
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications, or the ability to get them within 60 days of hire.
  • Ability to serve as a first responder in emergency situations and follow emergency protocols.
  • Current Les Mills Instructor Certification, or the ability to get it within 90 days of hire.
  • Current NASM, ISSA, or ACE Certification is preferred but not required.
  • Ability and desire to work in all areas of the center, as needed.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team and share responsibilities and duties.
  • Ability to work with grace under pressure.
  • Ability to be a friendly, empathic, and adept communicator.
  • Ability to resolve interpersonal conflict in a straightforward and timely manner.
  • Ability to gracefully accept and respond to feedback.
  • Ability to set priorities, be organized, and be a self-starter.
  • Ability to navigate technology efficiently.
  • Ability to be flexible regarding work schedule. While we strive to ensure our team members have a work-life balance, a minimum of 2 days of a week, and a regular schedule, occasionally, this position will demand something different, including the potential for working evenings/nights, early mornings, weekends, and/or holidays.
