Job summary

WesBanco is seeking an HR professional to support the Employee Experience Center of Excellence. The role focuses on resolving employee relations issues, developing performance improvement plans, and nurturing talent across the employment cycle.

You will collaborate with management across locations, handle compensation inquiries, and guide HR processes with a focus on confidentiality and compliance. The position operates on a hybrid schedule across multiple office sites in the region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two years of Human Resources experience.
  • Experience in Employee Relations preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and common business software.
  • Clear, concise written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior management, staff, and vendors.

Overview

This position is hybrid. The employee is split between remote and office work on a formalized schedule. Consideration for location will be Defiance Main - Defiance, OH; Adrian West - Adrian, MI; Maumee - Maumee, OH; Henderson Rd - Columbus, OH; Youngstown Main - Youngstown, OH; and Bank Plaza - Wheeling, WV.

Summary

Responsible for completion of all duties related to the Employee Experience Center of Excellence (COE). Will provide resolution for employee relations issues, develop performance improvement plans, assist with the development of current talent to meet organizational goals, and handle employee activities from post-hire throughout the employment cycle.

Responsibilities
  • Model the standards of the Bank's Mission and Vision.
  • Demonstrate pledge values.
  • Manage employee relations issues, provide guidance on policy interpretation, and escalates complex cases.
  • Guide managers in the development and implementation of performance improvement plans to address underperformance and support employee development.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace environmental standards and address concerns related to health, safety, and sustainability.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding annual compensation processes, performance evaluations, and related HR programs.
  • Conduct deep-dive talent reviews and collaborate on workforce planning strategies to align talent with organizational goals.
  • Support business leaders to improve employee engagement, contributing to the creation and execution of action plans based on survey results.
  • Coordinate HR-related activities during building closures, including communication and employee support.
  • Provide guidance and support on general HR topics such as benefits, payroll, and policy questions.
  • Facilitate employee listening sessions to gather feedback and promote an open, inclusive workplace culture.
  • Represent the organization in unemployment hearings and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Respond to employment verification requests from prospective employers of former employees.
  • Manage resignation processes, conduct exit interviews, and evaluate counteroffer strategies when appropriate.
  • Answer communications, either phone or email, provide resolutions, answer questions, or escalates as needed meeting service level expectations.
  • Serve as backup to other team members as needed.
  • Work with HRIS team member or IT to resolve escalated issues with HRIS or other applications.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements

  • Ability to learn HRIS system and other applicable software or applications.
  • Four-year bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field or a minimum of 4 years related experience; or equivalent combination of 4 years of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two years of Human Resources experience required; experience in the Employee Relations field desired.
Preferred Qualifications

Leadership skills preferred. HR Certification preferred.
